I bolted my l92 head on my shortblock today and have no lifter preload. I even took some old lifters and put washers in the body and put the lifter back together. still not compressing and anything. Do the 6.2's use a longer lifter? or pushrod?

I'd imagine they use a longer pushrod. With my LS7 heads I needed 7.750 long pushrods to get proper preload. I'd use a pushrod length checker to find out your proper pushrod length.
