Default 370 ci LS2

i would like to biuld a engine with a stock ctroke but a 4.00 bore. the reason i want to is because i will be using the L92/L76 package and throwing a turbo to it. does the 370 equal the 4.00 bore and a stock crank. also, can i do this with a LS1 or do i need a LS2 iron block. finally, will this be a good package to start with with a 76mm garret turbo intercooled at 18 psi max and 7-10 psi street use.

You would need either an LS2 Aluminum or LQ4 Iron 6.0 Liter block. It would be with a stock stroke crank.

You can't do this with an LS1 block..

actually it would be a 364 with a 4.000" bore and a stock crank. Just a factory LS2

You couldn't make a 370 out of an LS2. You'd have to use the LQ4 and punch it .030 over i think.

The ls2 block is the same stroke as a ls1. Both are 3.62. The ls1 block from the factory has 3.90 sleeves that can only be bored/honed to 3.91 which equals 348 ci. The ls2 block come from the factory with a 4.00 bore, which can only be bored/honed to a 4.010 bore which equals 366 ci. To have 370 ci with a 3.62 stroke you need a 4.030 bore. Most opt for the iron 6.0 blocks b/c they can be easily bored .030 over, where as the aluminum blocks need to be resleeved which is pricey. Also on a boosted motor the iron block to alum head is better as the block distortion is less under pressure and less likely to blow a head gasket.
