Default Help me think about this

My 05 GTO LS2 engine is currently stock. The car currently runs mid 11s with a 100 dry shot and a Fuddle 3000 stall. Now, here's the catch...I want the car to remain stock looking to the casual eye. That means stock air box and exhaust manifolds. I'm not looking to be the quickest of the quick at the track; and the car is a daily driver.

I'm thinking in terms of L92 heads (unported), a L76 intake manifold, and a Thunder Racing Cheatr Cam. I realize that I could get better gains with long tubes and a different cam; but it's really important to me to maintain the stock appearance.

I know there's not much real world data on the L92s and the L76 with a stock displacement LS2 (probably none with stock exhaust manifolds). Any guesses about what results I might see with this setup? Will the lack of headers offset any/all gains that might be expected from the heads and intake manifold? Will the stock exhaust manifolds even match up to the L92 heads. How will the TR Cheatr react with a nitrous shot?

Lot's of other questions I could ask; but you guys see where I am going with this. Would appreciate any comments you might have.

You could always do a killer set of ported LS6 heads if you wanted it to reamain REALLY stock appearing. Problem is REALLY good LS6 heads are hard to get.

You L92 idea is a good one, I don't think you are far off base there.

I like the l92 heads also. I would add though that longtubes and a good exhaust system will make a big difference and you will not see a large gain with those heads unless you get rid of the stock exhaust.

Understand what you are saying...that's one reason I am considering the TR Cheatr. It was designed to make power with the stock exhaust manifolds; but it was originally designed to do that with the stock LS1 heads. I guess my concern revolves around whether it will work as well with the increased air flow volume and decreased air flow velocity that the L92 heads would provide.

I am also concerned about the .4 to .5 loss of static compression that will result from the larger combustion chamber of the L92 heads. As stated in my original post, I am a nitrous junkie; and nitrous loves compression. I know I can mill the heads to regain the compression; but have no clue what that might do for my PVC on a stock bore LS2.

I suppose the bottom line here is that I am hesitant to drop ~$2000 (and a few hours of my time) on mods that might leave me running similar times to what I have already accomplished with the unmodded LS2.
