Optimal 408 Set Up?
. The engine was originally built loose by the previous owner. The guy that works on it now discovered the piston cylinder wall clearance was a little out of spec. Thinking about going .040 over and new pistons. Had a cam back out and a lifter turn, which caused us to have to replace the cam, lifters, timing chain, and crank. Thought it would be a good time to go .040 over and get new pistons. If I'm going to do all of this I want to do it right and get the most out of it. Looking for opinions on best possible set up. Below is a list of parts that goes w/ set up. The car dynoed 502 RWHP and 485 LBS torque. I'd like to be around 540-550 RWHP and 500 + in the lower end torque. My last set up made its power fast at lower RPM'S w/ a custom ground cam by Bauer Racing. I like drive ability. Those pojections may be a little ambitious, but lets see how it goes. Also will be spraying a nice shoot of nitrous down the road.-6 litter iron block
-Dart 225 slightly ported on the exhaust
-90 Fast intake
-90 LS6 throttle body, or Nick Williams
-Kooks long tubes
-no cats
-Zo6 cat backs
-Varram Intake
-did have 12.3:1 compression 100 octane
I feel like I've left something out. This will get it started anyway.
