Default L92 Mods

I am building a 'street truck' based on the L92 block/heads and the L76 intake. I don't need either DoD or VVT. Question: What do I need to remove and replace to lose both DoD and VVT in the L92?

Default Part Nos?

Thanks Robin...my L92 block and heads are downstairs now. I just ordered the L76 intake 'kit' from SDPC and plan on selling the 'drive-by-wire' TB on ebay. Could you share info and p/n on your build?

This engine did have a cam phaser. It's going to be difficult getting a passenger car water pump over that cover. I have heard about a soloutin and will check it out.

Right now I am busy on the LSX engines for our Nostalgia Pro Street car. The L92 has to be on the back burner for a little bit.

There is no way of controlling the phaser right now so you may as well ditch it, and replace it with an LS2 double timing chain. Then you can use an LS2 timing cover and an unmolested water pump. Or if you want to keep it the way it is here is a link to wegner motorsports water pump spacers, only $30:

There is a company that has a stand alone system that allows you to control the phaser. It's a complete fuel management system. I will be talking with them about some testing and a article to talk about their system.

Unless you're talking about some crazy expensive BIG STUFF 3 with some serious custom OS, I'm pretty skeptical. And even if you could get it to work, then you have to worry about ptv clearance like no one else. Which may end up hampering the amount of lift/duration you can use till there isn't any benefit overall. Until some one else does the R&D I say Ditch it and go regular LS2 stuff.

Are they now producing an L92 crate engine? Thats what I would like to have in my car, a stock, or as close to stack as you can get, complete L92 crate engine. Of course I would consider an L76 intake. Where, and/or when, can I get one? JB

Mast Motorsports will be releasing a L92 crate engine for sale within a couple months. We are currently finishing up development on our stock L92 and L92 HO crate engines. Our wiring harness and controller package is the VVT capable standalone system that Robin mentioned and is available with our turnkey crate engine packages.
