Default ls2 intake on ls1 bottom end.

well im looking at putting an ls2 intake and tb on my ls1 engine... its a 2002 trans am with 317 heads. I did all this to lower compression but i was wondering what the hp gain would be with this intake when i boost my motor. ? has anyone used one ofthese intakes alone and noticed a difference at all or no? let me know guys if you think buying one is worth the hassle .

Maybe if the intake manifold was ported it might be worth it, but otherwise the stock LS6 intake manifold out flows it.

The actual intake manifold has a crappy manufacturing process or something, but the manifold doesn't flow as well as a stock LS6 one does, even with it's 90mm TB. If you get the LS2 intake manifold ported, they've been shown to add almost as much power as an unported FAST90, but I personally haven't seen any results first hand. Personally I'd stick with the LS6 and either save up enough to buy a FAST90, or buy an LS2 and get it ported.

Go to tpis.com and look at their manifold test. You will find a ls-6 manifold with their 90mm nose is hard to beat also they have a billet 90mm throttle body that is the best out there.

On FI applications the LS2 out shines the LS6 and is about the same as the FAST. A little port/clean up work on the LS2 and it best the FAST intake. Not too bad for half the price of the FAST.
