Default Budget LS2 Stroker?

What's the least expensive way to go 402 with an LS2? What parts are required? Any advice? Thought I would ask before the shortblock starts getting assembled. A few extra affordable cubic inches never hurt anyone Thank's for any input.

The Basic parts: LS2 block, 4.0" stroke crank, rods, rings, pistons, main cap bolts or ARP studs and bearings. That's pretty much a basic short block. You will also need the front cover, rear cover and valley cover if your changing from an LS1.

Go Iron! A lot stronger too. I got a long block core for $300 and sold the heads for $50.

I already have the LS2 shortblock assembled from a 05 Vette (cam, pistons, etc). Can I get away with just bying the 4.0" crank or is that just wishfull thinking?

Not sure about that but machine work will be required most likely. Not sure what the gain of that would be. There is certainly a bennefit by going with forged parts, especially since you have it all apart. I can understand just trying to get more out of it for a low cost though.

You can reuse your stock rods, but will need different pistons. The wrist pin height is different.
