Default LS7 valves in a L92 head

Hi all a newb here and I did a search but did not find a definite answer so please don't flame me too bad.

Can you put LS7 hollow stem valves in the L92 heads? I know the 7 valves are a little bigger than the 92. Can a "good" machinist work the valves in?

Thanks

Mal

They physically fit, no issues in that.

However, their longer tip length requires you to rework the rocker arm geometry and the valve spring choice isn't improved. Might be better off to have custom ti valves made or buy hollow stem SS.

The reason most go with the L92 head over the LS7 is the price difference. The difference in price is mainly the valves. I am only asking because I don't know but what is the benefit of doing this?

Default My Reasoning

From what I can gather reading this forum, the valves rockers and springs are weak links in this otherwise awesome head for forced induction. I am planning a 400ci twin turbo ls motor. These heads flow the best for the money compared to any other available. Since the 92 is based on the 7 and I would more than likely change the valves rockers and springs, I thought it would be good to get a bare head and swap in the 7s valves with some beehive springs and some rockers (not sure whose yet) and have some great heads for slightly more money than stock assembled?

Now I know I am not an expert on this so I'm asking you guy's opinion to work out the bugs before I write the checks.

Ok I got word that LS7 valves require a 4.125 bore and will not work w/ a 4.0" bore. So that is un acceptable.

Oh well that is what I get for thinking. I'll wait a little while longer for the aftermarket.
