Tall deck sounds great and all, but then you've got to wait for headers that fit since standard LS-series headers won't mate up, right?

Really if everyone wanted the tall deck we would have introduced it first. There was a need for a block that would withstand the power adders that make huge cylinder pressure.

The tall deck is next, when I am not sure. If I had to guess I would say late this year.

At one time an aluminum version wasn't in the cards. Now that has changed. If I was to guess I would say don't look for an aluminum version for at least a year.

If I hear anything that differs with that I will post it here.

Thanks

Robin

if i went to my dealer and tried to order the LSX block how long would it take to get one? i would guess at least 3 months but i am just trying to look around while i decide on what to build this year and since my car is running fine right now there is no rush.

I would say a lot less than that. I am not privy to the number of blocks that are on order. That and normal stock orders would be the first to filled since they are probably in the system.

Your best bet would be to get one on order from Matt. He will have a better handle on where in line you would be.

Thanks

They can get it in less than 3 months I am sure! BUT, they likely won't be able/willing to sell it to you as inexpensively as we sell it for

notice the "to my door" part? i highly doubt they offer free shipping and on a heavy block like that it can get expensive. nobody can be worse than gmpartsdirect.com, they want you to pay more for shipping than the actual part lol.

My local dealer got me a LS7 block in 3 days when SDPC could not get me one at all. They told me it was on national back order.
