Head recommendations for LS2 402... compression issue
Head recommendations for LS2 402... compression issue I am looking for some recommendations for a set of hands to compliment a LS2 402.
Here's the current problem... compression. Right now, you can't run the correct timing in it with 93 octane. It wants to detonate and not run well b/c of it. Now, if you run the correct mount of timing (wouldn't it be 26*?) and use race fuel it runs about 90%. If you bump the timing down to 16* then you can run 93 in it just fine with no detonation. The heads on the car are a set of LS6 heads that have been hand finished, which are 5.3l heads and 61cc. At any rate, I believe that the heads are the problem. The cam in the car is a 250 256 .580 .580 108lsa. So wouldn't I need a set of 6.0l heads?

They are flat top nitrous pistons as far as I know. They could also be -14cc dish pistons. It's either or. I am just thinking about buying the car and trying to narrow down the possibilities to build it back up right. As soon as I get it and tear it down, we'll see what's in it.
