I just ran into this on a set of LS2 pistons and they are definately 1.2/1.5/2.5 and I couldn't find anything aftermarket in rings, so I went with the GM 89017484 and they do fit nicely. I got them @ SDPC 1-800-456-0211. As far as them being the same as a LQ9 - I have no clue!!! I did use the GMPP site to find the LS2 ring numbers and all has proved to be factual - as mine fit. Hope this helps - sorry for the late post, but it took a while to get them as they are special order. I also wanted to fit them before I stated that they do work.
