It really depends on what stroke you are planning on using. You don't want the piston to have less than a 1.065" compression height due to the pin getting so far up into the oil ring. We use a 6.125" rod with the stock 3.622 stroke crank, 4" and 4.1" stroke aftermarket cranks.
