Default Lg G5x3

Did some searching and really want this cam. Big question is 112 or 114LSA? I'm not asking which to get, but why is it that 112 is for the M6 and 115 for A4's? Seems like 112's are better for the tracks, but the 114 has a broader power-band. How is this true? I would think the one that performed better would have a broader powerband, AKA more power under the curve, hence it would run better at the track. Would the 114 be more driveable on the street? I have an M6 '05 GTO and use the car 99.99999% on the street ...

This question was asked a little while back and there was a poll on it. It was about 50/50. You will hear strong opinions on both. In actuality, if you have a real good tune, I really doubt that you will feel any difference in "seat of the pants". On a dyno, the graphs might vary a little bit, but not enough for me to care.

I have the 114 G5X3 in my car and I really like it. With stock heads it made 405/375 at the wheels and the driveablity is very good for a "larger" cam. I would rather have a little bit better driveability than a lower powerband.

Yea, I did a search and was looking thru a bunch of threads, but there were a lot of dissenting opinions. The one that got to me the most was Patrick G saying that the 112's were the one making the big power. I'm no cam expert, but I thought LSA really didn't do much to the final output of the cam, just idle and where the power is made. If power output is the same, I'd opt for the 114 and a bit more driveability.

Yeah, every car is different. One car with a 112LS might make more power on the dyno than one on a 114LS but (all things equal) run slower at the track....or vise versa. I guess I would care more if my car was a consistant, all out track car, but its not. My car with stock heads and the G5X3 trapped 120mph with even the spare tire/jack still in it.
