dip stick problem

Default dip stick problem

guys im puttin a ls1 in a 94 z28 the dip stick broke and there was about 2.5 inches still left in the oil pan and i tried to make a tool to pull it out and it ended up falling in the pan...do you think i am safe to run the engine without anyproblems or do you think something will occur.i dont think anything will happen but i am kind of scared..give me your input. thanks in advance

Go get one of the telescoping magnetic tools from Sears, it fits into the oil drain plug hole and it can sweep the entire bottom of the oil pan. It's bendable too. The magnet is only at the tip so maybe you can slowly drag both broken pieces out through the drain hole.

I did that when I broke some springs and had small chunks of broken spring seats on my oil drain plug when I changed the oil.

Worth a shot.

i dropped thepan as much as i could and went in with a magnet and got her out...thanks.
