Go get one of the telescoping magnetic tools from Sears, it fits into the oil drain plug hole and it can sweep the entire bottom of the oil pan. It's bendable too. The magnet is only at the tip so maybe you can slowly drag both broken pieces out through the drain hole.
I did that when I broke some springs and had small chunks of broken spring seats on my oil drain plug when I changed the oil.
Worth a shot.
