Go with bigger cam?
Currently have a '05 Pontiac GTO. Want to reach 450rwHP with a cam-only set-up. I know it's been done before, but it takes a lot. Well I have everything, but the only questionable part of my set-up is the cam. I currently have a G5X3 114LSA on order. Other mods are or will be:
SLP LMII Cat-back (installed)
Kooks 1 7/8 LT's w/ cats (installed)
K&N CAI (installed)
SLP UD pulley
Ported Fast 90 intake
Ported TB
Only other thing would be a Mezeire water pump, and I really don't want to dish out $600 for an extra 10HP or so. Will I reach my goal or at least get painstakingly close? I could live with that. In case anyone is wondering, I'm considering the Vengeance Vindicator cam which is quite a bit larger. 240/244, over .600" lift and I believe it's on a 112LSA.
Thanks for any insight folks.

i went from the x3 to x4 cam from LG and didn't gain much. You could try the T-rex if stock heads are your goal,it seems to get the job done.. Also,if you want the 450hp #,you better tune on a dyno jet because i lost 30hp from a jet to a mustang dyno(i only use stang dyno's).goodluck to ya.

Why is your goal XXX HP? What is the car used for? I would think your goal should be more like 11.5 in the 1/4 or something like that. Because a peak hp # doesn't really mean anything other than for bench racing. And it doesn't mean your faster either.
Not trying to pick on you, but deep down you must have another goal for the car. Maybe it's just street fun or whatever, but I wouldn't get worked up over a dyno. If that is indeed what you want, call around and find out which dyno shows the biggest #'s and drive there and dyno.
