Single LS2 vs Double roller

Single LS2 vs Double roller At what point is it a good idea to go to a Double roller timing chain? I'm stuck between the thick LS2 vs the double roller, one of my local guys here said that the thick LS2 would be fine. Does spring pressure or any other factor decide if you should go double or not?

I like to use a spring rate of 440lb's of open pressure to switch to a double roller chain. The double rollers are good for springs up to the 600lb open area. Beyond that I recommend using a belt drive.

I have used the N-Motion double as sold by SDPC and it has lots of slack and backlash, if that really matters. Is very study and seems to work fine.
The LS2 with dampener is a nice setup and has the significant advantage (I think) of being compatable with cut front cover allowing cam changes with half the work. The double chain sprocket will not come off with split cover while LS2 will -for what that is worth.

Everyone will have there opinion, but the way I see it, if your in there, you might as well put on the insurance. The double isn't going to hurt you, but it could save you in the end.
