Default Mods to a C6?

Well Im a total newbie when it comes to chevy power. I use to have an 04 turbo cobra and it was recently stolen. I no longer want a cobra, in fear of them stealing it again. Im thinking of buying a 05-07 C6. What does it take in these cars to make them fast. What do the stock motors handle? I would love to do the APS twin kit. Anyone have it? What would you guys do if you were to buy a c6?

1. Get the 2008 instead. Better heads, larger displacement block.
2. APS twins or D1SC Procharger, these are pushing 650-700 rwhp on stock internal engines. Set it at 550 rwhp or less and it should be safe.

Then start saving for the busted rearend that is soon to appear. The drivetrain in the base C6 leaves something to be desired once you add enough power.

What kind of money am I looking at to build the rearend in this car? Who is having better results? D1SC or APS?

I know a C5 Z06 owner with an APS twin turbo kit that pulled off his stock 243 Z06 heads and installed the L92/L76 setup and lost power. Turbo combinations do not like big intake valves due to exhaust gas dilution into the intake port, most turbo kits have more exhaust pressure than intake pressure. Choose a head with a smaller intake valve. A 05-07 C5 has the 243 casting heads, so I would buy that with the APS kit, not to contradict Tony, this is just the feedback we have got. Now if you wanted to do nitrous, the L92 oversize ports and valves will be right for the job.
