Has anyone bought an Ebay motor???

i was lookin on ebay and found a couple of good priced shortblocks...too good priced...lookin for the downside...whatya think

I know of this shop and have talked to several who have motors built by them and they spoke very highly of them. Call the owner and pick his mind but seems to be the real deal although I cannot personally vouch for them but the poster is owner of LSx high performance shop in Chandler Ariziona. Worth the time to do some research but double check exactly what this includes as I do not believe it has engine covers, CAM, and harness for LS2 concersion or intake but you have to double check (as i looked at these closely several months back and not 100% complete).

just for added insurance.. have them send you some Hi-res pics of the sleeves, and deck surface.. you dont want to get a block like that other guy who got a "427 Katech" block.. that thing was trash

i have bought and sold pistons and cranks, heads but never a full engine.
i would rather get it from local sponsor shop

Not for nothing, but I would trust an ebay seller with an excellent feedback score more than a shop which is new in business (even if they are a sponsor to this site. Many times have I seen a consumer be screwed by shops which close doors or turn their head because they refuse to support a product. Im not saying this to bash ANY sponsor, I will give full credit to anyone- but Ive got to talk to you either on the phone or in person to gain my trust to buy a built shortblock to put in one of my cars. Im not going to go with some second rate product to save a few bucks. But if I am saving a few bucks and the person Im buying from seems reputable/responsible, Ill be more apt to let go of my money.

yeah...not that im against any of the sponsors here...but i did contact afew to try to get some prices and i got the mti treatment (oh yer only gonna spend 9000?...well ill have to call you back)...i ended up gettting a 422 for right at 4300 with the harness i need to put it in the hawk
