LS1 vs. LS2 connecting rods

Are they the same part number and identical? Any improvements in the strength of say my 02' LS1 rods and a newer LS2 rod? If so, what's the estimated amount of increased power they typically can handle?

I think the wrist pin design was changed and allows more strength on the LS2 rods. I also recall reading a magazine article where a reknowned engine builder was quoted as saying he trust stock LS2 rods up to 700hp. Wish I was more helpful but at least I brought you back to the top....

Thanks guys. I'm considering all options for this winters project. I've read about plenty of people using their stock rods with ARP bolts with no issues. There's obviously a big aftermarket out there of very strong rods too and I'm considering Callies. I'm wondering if some people have switched to LS2 rods in their LS1 blocks at all. If the price is low enough to buy them, is it an option to consider?
