Default Cam Choice for TBSS

07' AWD trailblazer SS, 3200 stall, built tranny, Kooks LT's, JBA cat back, CAI, Efans, Pulley. Now I am trying to plan the cam. Alot of guys are "over camming" these heavy pigs. You can't use a f-body or Vette cam with alot of success on these things or so it seems to this point from results I have seen from others. Remember these things are 5000lbs and have poor aerodynamics.

I am kinda thinking something like 210/218 0.570/.570 on a 114 LSA. It should produce a nice combination of decent average torque and HP, with a nice AUC.

What suggestions do you guys have?

Talk to Brian Sailer (MyGoatBits) he has a cam he ran in his 06 SSTB that was one of the best DD friendly cam's. It also sounded good. I am going with it. It has about the same numbers you have listed but a little more duration like 226/232. I know it had lots of low end & mids. Check with him & see what he can do for you it is a custom grind. Should get you some mid 12's with what you already have.

i would do a reverse split seein that the intake flows like crap on them trucks and i would also keep the peak around 6k or 6200 seeing how that intake also falls on its face soon after that.. tr230?

or Futral FM-4

How do you figure it flows like crap?? it flows right where it needs to to make torque to get a big heavy truck like that moving... when paired with the right cam and converter, those intakes work really well... 5.3/6.0 truck guys have been upgrading to that intake for a while now...

I'd go with a TR228R on a 112 in that truck, you wont be dissapointed. or go to performancetrucks.net.... those guys know pretty much everything you need to know about it.

i agree with a reverse split cam, they make great tq which is what a land barge like that needs. if the tr 230 seems alittle big you could spec out a custom cam, maybe something like a 224/218 or so on a 114 .
