push rods

im trying to figure out push rod length

l92 heads with factory rockers on .620ish lift

thought about getting a length measurer but i figured i would ask before i got one and screwed up the measurements

even if the heads are on a 6.0 L iron block??

Yes because all of these engines have the same deck height with the exception of the LSX block.

Wouldn't you still have to use a different PR size if the heads have been milled say to 65cc. also what is the standard deck hi=eight the ls1/2-lQ9 iron blocks

You can get pushrods with restrictor holes through Smith Pushrods. I use them in my race car.

If the heads are milled, couldn't you subtract the amount you milled your heads from the pushrod length (7.400") to get the pushrod length that you need for your particular application?

If you shave the heads or change thickness in head gaskets or even have a valve job were they cut the seats moving the valve stem closer to the rocker, you need to check the pushrod length, so you don't collapse a lifter, But if every thing is stock height i just go stock length, But thats just me.

Aftermarket cams have a smaller base circle too. I wouldn't think of buying pushrods before measuring if you have an aftermarket cam and milled heads.
