Default stroking ls7

i have an urge to stroke an ls7 to 4.1, probably using a 6.125rod, eagle crank, custom pistons to clear reluctor.

I have not yet looked close at the block, and want to know what sort of clearancing issues i may face, bottom of bores, pan rails, spacing on windage, clearancing on oil pan etc.

any pictures would be greatly appreciated so i can get a heads up asi have not done a ls before (only SBC)

It sure can be done. Some clearancing and custom pistons.
The nice part of storking a LS7 is that up to 4.125" the pistons are all the way into the sleeves unlike 402s and 415s. Very stable and only "square".
We can build you one, like mine.

im thinking a 4.1 stroke, presume you need to space the windage tray, any other issues with the c6 oil pan.

am considering aftermarket pan if necessary, but would like to stay with stock if possible

thanks for the advice, sent you a pm with where i am on the build,

The ones we have done are 4.125" but obviously 4.1 is fine. We use Mahle pistons and modify them.. Because Mahle makes the stock GM LS piston they seem to have the oil control better engineered.. Ported L92s/L76 should give you >530rw and in a <2000 lb car torque is not an issue. The cams we use tend to favor torque and come out with tq=hp.
I like the C6 pan but Accusump gives added security for road courses.
Makes a great motor.
