402 Stroker Question Alright guys I am down to 2 motors from Texas speed and I was wondering what the mass opinion would be. I am going to go with one of their 402 strokers and was wondering if the iron block setup would be fine or if I should go for the aluminum block. Its going to be a naturally aspirated setup in a DD/weekend warrior car. Also Should I go with the stage 3 LS6 heads or the L76 heads and manifold. I want to use the MS4 from my current motor, at least for a lil bit until i get a new cam spec'd for it. Any advice is most welcome
well staying n/a i would spend the extra and go aluminum. on the head side i say keep your cam and get the ported ls6 heads with the right cc. your current cam probably wouldn't work that great with the l92/76 combo and alot of those setups are around the 475-485 rw range which you should be able to get from your current cam with a decent ported ls6 head.
I really like the l92 head for these 4"+ bore setups, the power output on the cnc version of that head is pretty impressive. I personally like the iron block just about as much as the aluminum version because it's so much cheaper on the pocket book!
Look for a l92 4.090" bore configuration for ls7 prc heads in the next couple of weeks! I also heard there's about to be a special on 418 l92 engines
