Not trying to hi-jack the thread but which of these heads do you guys think would make the best torque from 3500-5500. I know a lot of guys just want to use whatever makes max HP even if its at 7500 but for a street engine I don't know if anyone's opinion differs. My 449 is 4.16 bore x 4.125 stroke, what is the BxS on a 455?

Hope this helps.

The biggest thing that sets the current cathedral port stuff apart from the L92 and LS7 heads is the intake. The L92 makes torque like a Fast, but tends to not make the same top end power. The LS7 makes for big top end power at the sacrifice of mid range torque. I have a customer in CA that had two 427 cars, one with stock LS7 heads and intake and one with undersized TFS 225's and a Fast 90. They both made 520 RWHP with smallish cams, but the TFS/Fast combo was about 60 RWTQ better down at 3000-3500 RPM. This is not so much because of the heads, but because of the intake manifold design. This is why you see guys with TFS 235's and Fast intakes making 600+ RWHP and 550+ RWTQ, with HUGE torque curves.
