L92 head decking?
L92 head decking? Looking at a set of L92 heads for a built LS2 motor, trying to get the DCR up to ~8.6:1 but the only way I can manage that is if I a. get a custom set of pistons or b. deck the heads a huge amount. Was wondering if anyone has experiance with L92 heads being decked to 58cc? Just to make sure I'm not crazy, if someone wants to run the dcr calculation other than me I'm using stock bore and stroke, 2cc (valve reliefs) pistons, with a 58cc head and cam that closes at 74.5 ABDC wind up with near the right DCR.
Not sure of your math but I ran a cam with 19 degrees of overlap with L92's milled .035 with 2cc pistons and a .040 Cometic gasket and ran 8.9 DCR and 12:1 SCR on my 403.
I wouldn't take them past 64-65cc either.

Mahle has in stock L92 pistons, 4.030 bore, 3.622 stroke-4cc valve reliefs. Diamond will make them for you, not really cheap, their L92 stocking pistons are based off the L92 bore 4.065. So they have to custom make them with the smaller bore. The Mahle's ran me $544, The diamonds were $897.
