timing chain damper??
timing chain damper?? I saw one i a post a few days ago. i bought a used 402 shortblock that came with a double row chain, but no damper i had no idea there was one. Do i need this or, do yo eliminate it with a double row??
You don't want to use the damper with a double roller timing chain, because you will not be able to remove the timing gear if you want to change cam one day, you can but its a pain in the ***, you will haft to remove the oil pump and timing chain crank gear to get the chain passed the damper.The timing gear will not drop down far enough the remove the chain from the gear.Been there done that.
