YT rockers - wipe pattern done...what pushrods?
YT rockers - wipe pattern done...what pushrods? I've got the whole wipe pattern done on my new heads. I ended up using the supplied shims. Anybody know what the thickness of them is? Now for the pushrods....what length do I need now? I've already got some stock length chromoly ones (7.4"). I'd rather not order a pushrod checker for this as many people have the setup I do. It should be an easy answer. I should mention, I did this on the workbench....I don't have the motor yet.

PRC 6.0L heads, 64cc not milled
Cometic .040 gaskets
YT rockers w/shims

I length checker is less than $20. I would check it just to make sure. The shimming of the rockers will change PR length. Not everyone goes through the shimming process like they should.
+2. I have all the parts for my build but pushrods. I plan to measure when the heads are bolted down, measure and order, and then re-assemble while waiting for them. They should arrive by the time I need them. I am going for Manton pushrods, very nice pieces.
I'll get it after all. I really didn't want to order just that + shipping and wait...(most likely from Speed Inc). Summit has the Comp pushrod checker I need and that I need to order a ton of exhaust stuff really really soon from them. Its going to really suck when I figure out the pushrods I have aren't right, but hopefully not. I know how to set it up and all, and I turn the checker till their is zero play. Figure out that lenght and add .100 for the preload right? Whats the max and min for the preload? Ideally what should it be?
The preload should be determined by the manufacturers recommendation for the lifters you are using. OEM with a cam, between .060" and .080", some have gone as high as .100". If your using aftermarket lifters I would call the manufacturer if you don't know.

how much camshaft will determine what length (as well as milled heads/block),pushrod checker safe bet,dont preload lifter more than 1.5 turns of rocker bolt.....
on my l92 heads with 255/264 cam it required 7.500'' pushrods(manley)when we fitted 1.85:1 yella terra super lights.all good....hope it helps..
