Help me understand oil burning on decel??

Help me understand oil burning on decel?? I have a Metco breather on pass side valve cover with a crossover tube to the drivers side v. cover. I have a catch can from the valley cover and then to a dump hose at the bottom of the car. I thought I had eliminated the intake system all together maybe not. It only smokes real bad on heavy decel from like 4k and let her wind down for a little. I want to get the GZ vacuum pump to see if that would help but want to make sure I don't have something else amiss first. Thanks guys.
i have the same prob, but i have my PCV still hooked up like stock. i am going to try a catch can one of these days. if thats not it then i am going to look into valve guide seals... i know its not my oil rings...

Good work so far eliminating PCV and breathers from your intake. However, when you let off the throttle, especially at higher speeds, you will pull a crapload of vacuum. You could be sucking oil past your valve guides or through your rocker arm bolts under heavy decel.

I am going to try this GZ vacuum pump setup to see if sealing the entire system will work. Most say it will fix most of the issues I am having. The breather setup is fine but under high pressure it will just drip oil onto your header tubes.
Mine consumed oil like crazy and smoked on decel. Ended up being that the valve seals were not seated all of the way. Do a leak down, very easy to do. PM me if you need any help...
