Default I have some Fast Intake questions???

Had anyone seen higher HP/TQ peaks with a Fast intakes?Reason I ask is for a heavy car (4000lbs) I dont think I would want my hp/tq range to be altered to the point where it moves it up 300 to 500+?

I would imagine cam events would play a role here too.

I am intregued by the Weiand intake and I know the runners are smaller than the Fast but for a heavy car thats running a cam designed around a 3200 stall and max rpm shift point of 6300 I dont think u would want the hp/tq peaks to be raised?

This is why I like the idea of the Weiand..
Sure th Weiand might give up some power from say 5700 to 6400 but from 3400 to 5600 I would seem to think it would make MORE TQ than a FAST and thats a good thing for a heavy car (4000lbs) especially on the street..

Or is my thinking incorrect?

Joel, this has been covered ad nausium. The FAST 90 gives the same powerband as an LS6/LS2 intake, it just flows more.

Here's a couple of dyno comparisons of a Mamo-ported FAST vs an LS6 intake. Although the porting will make them a little more powerful than a non-ported FAST, you can see that peak rpm is virtually the same between manifolds.

Yes but that doesnt mean the Weiand wont up the Fast/LS6 in the middle
Until we see dyno results its just conjecture

I have seen 100 rpm differences which are nothing but again lets wait and see if the Weiand can make MORE power from 3300 to 5600 before we condemn it..

U do make it hard for me not to buy the Fast but $800 + the install kit $90...
They can stick it up there butts

Car will ET quicker and trap higher with the FAST....period.

It seems there are dozens of threads like this where people are looking for other people to tell them what they want to hear (not necessarily what will really work the best)....that allows them to sleep better at night and justify the lower purchase cost.

Even if there was a point very low in the curve where the smaller runners of the Weiand made a few more foot/lbs of torque, once the car was out of the hole and running down the 1320 it would spend all its time above 5000 RPM's, exactly where the larger runners, bigger plenum, and overall better designed FAST will be shining.

Yes....its expensive, but speed costs and if you want the best intake you either choose to pay it or settle for second best (or worse).

Every high powered car runs a FAST (or ported FAST)....do you think that's a coincidence?

Save your money and buy whats proven....better to spend more and achieve your goals than saving a few dollars and falling short of them.
