Default Thanks to PatrickG....

Guys just wanted to thank PatrickG with the help on my cam setup
I bothered him, slowhawk, predator for what seems months

Patrick was a complete gentleman and answered ALL of my questions
Even some over and over again

He spec'd me a cam and I was all set to put it in but Comp offered me a great deal on any off the shelf grind in there catalog..It was basically free so I couldnt pass it up..

That being said,Patrick told me for what I wanted to do that the XER273HR14 was the cam..I then saw at least 4 of 5 dyno's using this cam in the last 4 weeks and after getting even more recomendations from Mike Norris,Spinmonster,RyanL I decided Patrick had a winner on his hands and installed in my 06 GTO..

Well it sure was what I wanted,Patrick hit the nail on the head as usual.
Car started right up,held the idle at 795 (I set idle prior to install w/EFI LIVE)
No Surging,no bucking at all..

Just a nice lope and a nice crisp revver, actually loped more than I would imagined...
It drives like stock with no tuning,I cant imagine it needing much more that a tweek to the idle fueling and wot fueling..I have already removed all the codes before I installed it that would cause a SES and so far not one code in 50 miles..

I am dialing the Ltrims now and then we will dyno tune it Thurs..
I cant tell u how happy I am for not putting in something bigger than this cam as its exactly what I wanted in a street/strip setup and my VIG 3200.

I will be adding a Fast and or Weiand to the car along with 3.73's
Thanks again for the cam help Patrick,U are a good guy

Final Cam Specs: XER 224-230 581-592 114+2

Thanks for the props Joel. It was truly a team effort for all those involved. When you have a nice ride like a GTO or C6, it's important not to go overboard and overcam. You did good brother!

Patrick G is the man and he has done awesome work for me and soon will be seeing a great post comparing 5-8 very popular LS7 cams and the one he speced for me is in there and definitely is the most powerful one out of the bunch.

That sounds good it's nearly identical to the cam in mine and it works nicely indeed.

cheers

I ended up running that cam in my LS1 Camaro with AFR 205 heads and made 402/367 at the tire with an A4 (unlocked) and a 9". The driveabilty was like stock as mentioned. It maybe should have made more power on the dyno as many mentioned with similar set-ups but I didn't get discouraged because I don't race dynos. All in all I was very happy with that cam choice for a street car and it exceeded my initial goals of wanting an 11.80 street car. times in sig. Good Luck and enjoy your HP.

Nice thing about this cam is I picked it up NEW at Summit through my wholesale deal for less than 350.00 to my door.
