You already have an LS1, why would you swap for an LS6?

The LS7 would work too.

With an LS2 402 ci motor w/ the right combination you can make around 500 RWHP N/A. It only requires a few things to make it work on your 98 also.

If you go the LS2 route you need a few more things than if you go the 6.0 LQ9 route. The LQ9 408 will take your covers and stuff from the LS1, the LS2 needs s converison kit. So for about 700 less you can have a 408 and make more power. It weighs 75lbs more. This is the route I would go, best bang for the buck. My 408 with Callies internals is $4374 and my 402/403 is $4725. Unless your adamant about the aluminum block the 408 is the better way to go. An Ls7 is a lot more money.

Damn and I like my LS6. I guess I need to step it up to get out of the high school leaque. But yea the OP needs to research more before he invests his hard earned money. There are many affordable options and many more not so affordable ones. Good luck.

You need to do some serious research. The price between and LS6/7 is around 9K.

goodluck finding a complete LS6 motor, but if i do ever find an LS6 i would definently throw it in my car, the LS6 is far more supperior then the LS1, the pcv system sodium filled valves and hallow valve stems coated pistons and alot more. as for the LS7 wow that is one of my favorite motors of all time but it will require some work to get it into the f body perfectly

I chose an LS7 because well, I've never met someone with one in a Camaro.

Scoggin Dickey sells the LS6 as a crate motor with the F-Body oil pan. Dropped right in and all I had to do was lengthen a PCV hose. Not a bad price either. If you have a 01 or newer with the LS6 intake and injectors (according to the part number for the injectors) you can't beat the price or the ease of install. Earlier cars you'd have to get the intake and the injectors so it would increase the price a little.
