What could the problem be?
I picked up the car tonight from Mad Hatter in Pompano (the guys who took out the cats, fabricating new Y-pipe and pipe setup from the end of the shorties to the muffler).
Of course, they'd told my mechanic (who'd dropped it off for them to do this since that's their specialty) they were charging it up, since I guess it wasn't starting up. Well, when I picked it up and started it (they'd left it out in the lot with the keys inside since I wasn't getting there 'til after business hours), it was d-e-a-d.

Tried jump starting, but once my friend took off the jumper cables, the car lost its charge and died (voltmeter never went over 10.5 staying in the red).

SO, went and got a new battery, hooked it up, and it started, BUT again, voltmeter was below the mid-point, almost into the red! At least it managed to stay there as I drove it home, but it NEVER MOVED!
What could it be???? I spoke to someone I knew from the car club and he suggested I check to see if the alternator's plugged in, it could've inadvertently become unplugged, so I'll check that in the morning.
Any other thoughts, guys?
