I don't know a lot about the two blocks. I do know that they are the same block, they just consist of different internals. I'd say $350 is a good deal for a new block. Is it a complete drop out or just the block? In my opinion, either way its a good deal.

yes it is a brand new block never used and never had a crank set in it. the guy was going to build it and decided that the block would not hold the power he was planing on so he got an LSX block and is selling this one

Only difference in lq9/lq4 is the pistons. $350 for a brand new block is a great deal, new ones sell for $700.

Like jmm said - pistons are the only difference. GMPP part # is 12572808. LQ4 has 9.4:1 CR with dished pistons, LQ9 is 10.1:1 with flat-tops (and stock heads).

brand new LQ9 blocks are cheap. get a good price locally on a new one, will cost roughly 700+ tax
