Default Controller kits GM vs Speartech

I am starting a Gen 5 LT4 install in a 1965 GTO. As far as the gm controller kit 19331517 vs Speartech's kit, which one do you like and why. Also I am using a T400 in the car and would like your opinion on a signal converter to the ECM I would like to keep the cable driven speedo in the car. Thank you in advance.

Cant speek for the Gen 5 engine, but I like the GMPP LS3 controller kit I have. All fuses and relays are in a Delphi fuse box, and was easy to supply a single wire for 12 V+ power to feed everything. The one thing I dont like about it is the sensor wires are extra long.

Give John Spears a call at Speartech and run it by him. Bob

The GM Kit doesn't control the transmission. You have to use a separate transmission control unit to control the transmission

I have the Speartech wire harness and controller made to my specs on my '95 Impala with the 4L60E trans and have had NO PROBLEMS with it at all.

I can't speak to the quality or usefulness of the GM part.

ive ran speartech and psi on 2 diff swaps. the speartech harness is way nicer. comes fully wired compared to a psi. We used a speartech harness on my buddies gen5 c10 swap with the factory 6l80e without issues. very nice harness for the money!
