Water pump rotation?
I am planning to use a LS3 water pump on a project, so I looked up 2010 6.2L Camaro, water pump.
I get several results back, but a couple of them indicated "counterclockwise" rotation, while the rest indicated "standard" rotation.
I'm confused. Can someone explain why the different rotations? Gen V is new territory for me.
Thanks...

LS3 is Gen IV, not Gen V. Counterclockwise (as you are facing the front of the engine) IS standard rotation on all LS engines. Gen V would STILL be new territory, as this isn't it.

So all of the say, 2010 6.2 Camaros all use the same rotation water pump?
And, it's the manufacturer calling it "counterclockwise" or "standard"?
thx.

Actually, nearly, if not ALL LS engines run the WP counterclockwise, for he reason mentioned above.

The LS water pumps are driven by the smooth side of the belt, aka the back side, which means it will go counter clockwise since the crank turns clockwise.
On my L83 (2014 truck gen 5 motor) the water pump is driven by the grooved side and spins clockwise. I also just started my truck to confirm even though it's obvious by the belt which way it's gonna turn.
An LS3 is a gen 4 and should spin counter clockwise, but I'm not 100% since I don't have one in front of me. But if memory serves correct, the LS3 water pump runs off the back side of the belt
