Default Convert LS headers to Gen V?

Hi there, I'm getting ready to install an L83/T56 in a 280z. I am curious if anyone has converted LS headers to fit a Gen V engine? From dimensions I found online it looks to me that the tubes are in the same location, just a different bolt pattern. Is this correct? If so, would it make sense to buy LS headers and swap the flange?

I'll start working towards an answer then. I compared my L83 exhaust manifold to an LS and the outlets are in the same spot. Obviously different shaped, but should be workable. Will update later.

If you're looking for some tight hugging headers I bought these ones for my Defender 110 swap:

If the ports are the exact same spacing, an easy way would be buy some gen 5 header flanges, drill/tap them to suit the gen 3/4 headers so your headers can bolt into the gen 5 flange with short bolts. And clearance header flanges where necessary so the gen 5 bolts are able to wind into heads. Sandwich the gen 5 flange between the head and your gen 3/4 headers and run 2 header gaskets each side. That's If your car has the room to add an extra flange thickness to the headers and the headers won't hit anything in the chassis.

Bit hard to explain in words. a diagram would be easier

Short answer is no. I tried. $1000 in headers taught me the flange angles are different. Ports are spaced the same. I hoped to redrill flanges to work with OTS LS long tubes but the lower portions were contacting the block in my case where the engine mounts go. Custom fab was my only option, atypical swap limited my choices

I eventually ran across a thread mentioning the same thing. I ended up modifying some gen V headers for my application. I supposed an adapter plate might still be able to correct for the angle though? Or welding gen V flanges on at a different angle.

I found these shorty headers that hug very close to the block . I posted pics in my earlier reply but for some reason my post with pics get flagged for mod approval .

Those are the same ones I posted but marked up $120 and they don't show any gaskets. Same picture.

I realize this is a older thread, but those headers are 1 5/8” primaries.

FWIW...... Richard Holdener did a dyno run with a L83 and it showed no difference with headers vs. manifolds. This is one dyno flog that shown headers didn’t yield a gain like typical LS I’d try manifolds.
