2014 silverado overheating
So I've got a buddy who has a 2014 silverado that continues to overheat. The head gaskets have been changed, water pumps been changed, thermostat has been changed. He thinks the heads are bad but I just have a hard time believing that. The system was properly bleed so that's not the issue either. The radiator lines have alot of pressure on them. Also the temperature sensor was bad so that was replaced also.
The DexCool will clog a radiator up if not maintained on schedule. It’s rated at 100k miles, but I’d change it out at 80k. How many miles on the truck? You can use a laser heat gun and shoot the radiator core at different spots to see if it’s got any “cool” spots on it. That will indicate a clogged radiator. Happened to me before with an Altima. Nissan coolant is almost the same high silicone crap.
