Default A few questions about the new LT1

Just purchased a 2016 C6 Z51.

Will for sure be doing a cam swap soon. Just don't know much about the new LT1 yet. And i have a few questions.

How big of a cam can i go with stock pistons, aftermarket springs, stock valves with heads milled ....say 0.030 manual trans. I plan on going big on the cam first, the rest will come not too long afterwards.
My L76 G8 was a 232/242 .620/.620 110+0.It had a PV clearance of ~ 0.057.

Can you do a DOD delete and Keep VVT or do i want to?
How tough is removing the heads and cam without dropping the engine?

Lifter bore sizes/spacing the same??
I have a spare set of Lunati high speeds sitting around from an earlier build.

Anything else i should know in particular?

Thanks!

You want to avoid milling your heads. Direct injection is a whole new animal and you can cause serious combustion issues if you mill these heads too much. You can go fairly aggressive with the cam, but depends on whether you are auto or manual. Lifts in the mid .600s and durations in the 230s/240s.

Most cams are going to require replacing the lifters and deleting DoD, but some cam phasing is retained (limiter is used).

Removing the heads isn't the issue. You have to at least partially drop the oil pan. Most shops just pull the engine.

Not sure about the Lunatis
