If you can get by with a .005 hone, you’ll find plenty of 4.070 piston offerings. I’m doing one right now, (Gen4 though) gonna hone it .005, to 4.070. No need to bore…hone only. Save you money…

Depends on the condition of the bores. If they look fine, but you just want to put some new crosshatches in them, then I would say just do a light flex hone. That way you can use stock size pistons and save on machine shop costs. If there is noticeable damage, then you might need to cut deeper. Typical over-bores sizes are 4.070, 4.075, and 4.080. There aren't as many options with the 4.080 size.

Good to know. I’ll have to get the block looked at and see if I’m able to get by with that? Broke ring landing and have one noticeable score right at the top of the sleeve?
