L83 AFM delete requires different pushrod Working on L83 AFM delete using GM L8T cam and LS7 lifters.
Looking to see what people are doing with these. Everywhere i look people are saying you dont need push rods but I put mine together and my measured zero lash is 7.710" (measured multiple valves around this as well)
Stock 7.850 push rod would put preload right at 0.14,
is the gen 5 geometry that much different than gen 3/4 that people are running that much preload?
or are people just not measuring and assume it will be fine(bc a lot of people seems to run them and no issues?)
I have 7.800 on order to put preload right at .09 but kinda questioning if I should not be using my gen 3/4 preload target for gen 5.

I used BTR LS7 lifters and factory head gaskets on mine and re-used the stock pushrods. I measured the LS7 lifter body and plunger height compared to the non-DOD lifters out of the L83 and they were within 0.01 so I didnt worry about it. Maybe I got lucky, but its been fine for over 10k miles now.
