How about for Christmas? Surely I'm not the only one interested in getting a nice little 4/3 setup...

The 4/4 setup is SO worth it. Adjusting the rears in my car with a plastic **** inside the car is so much nicer than needing to fully compress the shock to adjust it. Once you have them dialed in you won't adjust them much, but still...go 4/4, that way you'll adjust them properly instead of saying "ehh, it's close enough" because the 3rd gen rears aren't as easy to fine tune...the way I see it, I put the shocks in, and I'll keep the interior plastic parts out for another 2 or 3 days, and fiddle with the shock adjustments a little more...soon as I am happy, then I can put the interior parts back in in a few minutes...but I don't have to unbolt anything from the car to finish fine tuning.

Hopefully today or tomorrow I will get my S60 from UPS. Since this is a much larger rear end I think I will opt for the 3rd gen rears, as Mr Strano said something about the 3rd gen shocks are different, and the GMHighTech car with the strano setup used the 3rd gen shocks at Sams recommendation because they plan on using a larger rear end with their build. Something about the shocks are supposedly better for them. While the on-car adjustments would be sweet, I don't think I'll mind taking them off to adjust them, especially since they'll likely stay where they are once I get them dialed in where I want them. There's about a 14% cost difference between the 4/3 and 4/4.

Well...if they don't physically hit the rearend with the shock tubes...the size shouldn't matter...if they are hitting it, it's probably a design problem with the particular rearend.

You're right about price, and you're right about adjusting them much once they're set too...but I see a lot of people put them on the car, and never finish adjusting them because it's "close enough" and too much of a PITA to tweak. If you know you're not going to fall into that and not finish adjusting them, then absolutely, save some money and go with the third gen rears.

Ask and you shall receive! I just ordered a set of 4/3 Koni's. Sam you are the man! I'd rather do business with the expert anyway...

Hope this helps move some shocks for you sam!
