with the correct converter, any chevrolet transmission will work, theyre all the same bolt pattern. i would spend the money on a properly built th400 before anything.

Well I got the clutch changed. What a NIGHTMARE...But so far so good. After I checked the thickness on the disk it was limited to .020 over and it was at .030. So thanks "RUTAN TA" for telling me it worked great when you took it out of your car! Anyway, the trans am is back on the prowl, and plan to have brian tune it for me next week. Going 93 & E-85 to see what we can get out of her.

wizard- you will probably like the 4l80e the best, it will kinda suck not having overdrive and a top speed of like 110 or whatever it will do in 3rd gear topped out.

The 80e isn't that much different from the 60e. Space would be the only thing on a car that I would see being a problem, but it's not that much bigger. Since I did it in my truck, I wouldn't be afraid to swap it into anything gm. It wasn't as big of a deal as most people make it sound, and mine is 4x4, so I had to tear the transfer case apart.

Ok so i mainly just need a few more things to get my build under way. 38mm wastegate, boost controller, 255lph fuel pump, a-pillar pod, boost/wideband/tranny temp/and oil pressure gauges. For the most part that will get me going. Anyone have these laying around they want to get rid of? Cheap! Lol
