Wow, talk about an old thread. What kinda motor is in that thing? I have never heard of a Lumina SS. Here in the states, they are definitely not sports cars though.

The 4 door 6.0 litre cars will be L98 engines and not LS2.

OK, I just looked at Engine HP's pics of various Luminas. Thats funny that they are called a Lumina!!! Here (USA) a Lumina is a cheap FWD v6 car that old women drive. I guess the old Z34 Luminas ran pretty good for what they were, but still v6 FWD cars. Not cool like the SS you guys are talking about. I wish GM USA made all the right wheel drive cars that you guys have in the middle east, and Australia. Have fun with those Lumina Super Sports boys!!

.

I have an old Z-34. It didn't come with an LS,
but it did come with a decent 11.6 liter engine that is pretty cool??
No old lady's in this one, that's for sure.

WOW someone from Oman!
Lumina SS + Holden Commodore & HSV + GTO/goat = I believe there are all same, sharing same design and performance (made in AUS)!
These animals are heavy and cannot go faster than stock LS1 (not sure for new ver. tho)

Unfortunately THE NEW CAMARO IS AUCULLY NEW LUMINA SS here in ME (I read it from a magazine)!!! That’s true. Australian camaro!!!!
Sorry GM, Now you killed the soul of Camaro

When i was doing contract work in Kuwait a couple of guys bought Lumina SS cars, they wanted to ship them back to the states but quickly found out that the computer controlled emission mods alone to get it back to U.S specs alone will kill your wallet.

Where did you read that. BS magazine?
The only difference other right and left hand drive, is the tune on the cars. Foriegn versions are tuned for the fuel they use in that particular country. Which in Australia is sometimes is a higher octane.

GTO, Holden monaro, HSV monaro or gto, vauxhall monaro, old lumina ss 2dr....all the same car. Left hand drive in US only. All others are right hand drive.

G8 new lumina ss and gen 5 Camaro are all on the zeta platform. Pretty much the same car with different body panels.

The G8 ST that was going to be in the US is a Holden Maloo

New to the site. I currently have a 06 Lumina SS, LS1, M6. All Coupe version of the SS are LS1 I believe, unlike 05-06 GTO's.

I was also looking at bringing this back to the states and have talked with a conversion company.

I got a GMVIS report and the VEHICLE BUILD sheet from another web site.

To make a long story short the engine is a CALIF EMISSION SYS LEV2 PLUS (NU4), saying that it meets all emissions for the EPA. There are other things that would have to be replaced to meet DOT specs. Lights, bumpers, converting the speedo to mph, etc..

Enough rambling, Good site!!!
