Default a newpie question

hi
i have caprice2002 ls1 5.7L,,
the catbacks, headers, y-pipe
do they depend on the car engine only?? i mean do they have to fit the engine only (no matter what car i have)?? does any exhaust system that works good for z28 should works good for caprice2002 too??
cuase im afraid to buy any exhaust system and then it wont fit my car

The exhaust would need to be vehicle specific. ei, a Camaro exhaust would not fit a GTO or Corvette even though they have the same engine.

They are normally vehicle specific. It MIGHT fit, but I think that it would be a long shot.

I didnt know they made the Chevy Caprice in 2002. I though the last year was 96.

Cat backs, headers and y-pipes are designed for the certains cars and pretty much not interchageable. For example, headers, from a Trans Am will not fit on a vette.

Nice car!!! I assume you are in the middle east?? You could possibly be able to replace your stock muffler with a magnaflow or hooker muffler it just depends on how the stock exahust is setup and for the LT's it's hard to say. Do you have any exahust shops near you with that can bend and weld pipe to help if the install gets messey?? I'm shure you do, I have never been outside the US so I have no idea what kind of things you have where you are at....and where is that you are at again?? lol

Nope not trying to make fun of you... lol. I am just kinda cluless on what happens ouside of my little bubble. Man I laughed like hell when I read what you posted back. On the LT's part I guess your best bet would be to call a sponcer and see if they have ever dealt with a request like this (prolly not) or if they have any info for you. If you are pretty handy you could just order a set and try to fit the LT's up in there and see of they will clear every thing and if you will be able to fab up the rest of the exahust system....but be careful with them so if they don't fit you can send them back and get the money back, now if thet don't take returns you can sell them to me for very very cheap (I prefer KOOK's or QTP's stainless please) thanks!!!! And good luck!!

Ooops, LT's= long tubes=headers...all the same thing. Most places make mid- lenght headers that may fit better for you, but it's hard to say. Again good luck!!
