Default dash & instrument transplant

I am installing instrument panal & dash ,engine & 6 speed out of a2004 GTO into a 1986 El Cameno. Does the 2004 GTO have a Powertrain interface module ? I so do i have to use it to make the instrument panal work ?

there used to be a Holden service training manual on this link http://carprogrammer.com/Z28/PCM/LS1/Holden_LS1.pdf but it stoped working a while ago , it shows a Powertrain interface module behind the lhs kick panel . Would a painless wiring harness be a way around that problem ?

I am pretty sure it would work with a painless wiring, well at least they would know
in a manual the only thing realy would be the speedo to worry about wouldn't it.

I got the Holden Engine Management (Holden_LS1.pdf) file here and also know where you can download it yourself.
