yep it looks like I65 southbound starts getting SLOOOW just south of Louisville down to around Elizabethtown.......... plan accordingly.... You can also head south on 31 which parallels I65 but it is a state road and goes through towns and such.

Bypass it to new Albany and come down Dixie highway, thorough Louisville/ft Knox You can cut through elizabethtown to I65. Normally may be 30-45 minutes longer but you will thank me later...

To avoid traffic and lights on Dixie, when you come around 264, get off at the cane run rd exit. Go South on Cane Run Rd. Cane run Rd will become The Greenbelt Highway, that will turn in to highway 841, which is the Gene Snyder. the first exit you come to will be Dixie Highway, 31W, that will bring you out on the south side of Louisville and save a bunch of time going all the way down dixie through red lights. NOTE: If you are coming from Indiana, north of Jeffersonville, take 265, in Indiana around to 64 East, cross over the bridge in to Ky, then get on 264 to the above directions.. YOU DO NOT WANT TO CROSS IN TO LOUISVILLE ON I-65!!! They are doing construction on 65 BEFORE the bridge and have it down to 2 lanes. Along with the construction at the 119 Mile Marker in Ky which usually backs up for miles as well...
