2017 HELMET RULES
Types of Legal Helmets Explained
Helmets are mandatory for driver of any car running 13.99 seconds or quicker. Helmet can be either an open-face or a fullface helmet
meeting Snell M2010, SA2010, SA2015 or 31.1/2010, 31.1/2015, 41.1/2010, or 41.1/2015 certification.
Drivers faster than 9.99 must utilize a full-face helmet.
The NHRA 2017 Rule Book Reads as follows for Helmets and Goggles:
As outlined under Class Requirements, drivers in all classes, including motorcycles, must wear a helmet meeting Snell or SFI Specifications.
SFI Spec 31.1A = Snell SA, open-face helmet
SFI Spec 31.2A = Snell SA, full-face helmet
SFI Spec 41.1A = Snell M or K, open-face helmet
SFI Spec 41.2A = Snell M or K, full-face helmet
Effective Jan. 1, 2008, full face helmet mandatory on all cars 9.99 or quicker. See Individual Class Requirements for additional requirements.
Shield mandatory 7.49 & quicker.
E.T. cars (13.99 or quicker) must use a helmet meeting Snell 2010, or 2015 Specs. Drivers in supercharged, front-engine, open-bodied cars
and Funny Cars must wear a helmet meeting Snell SA2010, SA2015 or SFI 31.1A, 31.2A, or 31.1/2010 or 2015 Specs.

Modifications to helmet/shield are prohibited. All helmets must have the appropriate certification sticker affixed inside the helmet.

Anyone know a place near Bowling Green to get one? I just realized my helmet is dated 9/2004. I've been running around today to various motor cycle shops but didn't find much in the open face design that I will need for local AutoCross too.
