I've been thinking/wanting to go but work/family obligations come first. I've fuked around and missed out on booking rooms along the tour. I've been thinking about heading up to Bowling green and drive the first part. I would head home once we get back to Georgia. Has anyone done this and had luck finding rooms??
I would like to hear your thought and experiences or just your 2cents.

We've done the Power Tour a number of times. You need to book rooms as soon as the route comes out. The hotels new the venue are booked by the Power Tour organizers and are typically over priced. You have to book thru them or you are out of luck.

What we did was book hotels 25 miles out in the next days direction of tours travels. Hang out new the venue most of the day and then head out to the hotel. You would be surprised how many folks do the same.

I'm planning to go this year for my first time! I can't do the whole tour, but I plan to start in Chattanooga and then head home after Darlington. I'm looking forward to it. I'm going with a buddy that has a friend with a house in Woodstock, GA and the plan is to stay there after Chattanooga, AL, and Atlanta, then we do have a room booked near Darlington for that night.

Thanks for everyone's thoughts. I'm going to take the day off next Tuesday and ride down to Atlanta motor speedway and check everything out. Are the events inside the track or in the parking lot? Sometimes works gets in the way of having fun
