Default new guy here, 1998 z28 =)

hey guys! whats up?!

been using this site for advice and research and figured... why not sign up and join! lol

anyways,
i have a 1998 Camaro Z28... 141K miles with engine problems, so im having a shp swap in a used 1998 z28 LS1 with 89K for $1,600 engine and all labor and taxes included with a 12 year/12,000 mile warranty.
with that i have a K&N intake system, jet coated pacesetter LT's with a TSP y-pipe (emission laws suck haha) and a TSP 3in. rumbler (it's sick) with a mail-order tune.

later i want to do a LS1 hotcam and trying to find the right intake manifold and then a dyno re-tune.
"G.M. LS1 hot cam, specs 218/228 .525/.525 on a 112 LSA. $125 "
and i've read the stock pushrods and springs(rocker arms maybe, dunno) only hold up to a .525 lift...

so i'm workin' on that.
with what i have now, the newer engine and the cam and intake manifold, im hoping for atleast 350rwhp and somewhat same TQ... tell me if i'm wrong haha

thanks guys, (input would be cool too lol)

welcome yeah depending on the tune you should see 350... if i were u i would upgrade the pushrods and springs just in case.... not that much and it will be built to hold your hp!!!

yeah, i figured why not install the PR's and springs before the hotcam... i figured the hot cam would give me 20rwhp? my target with everything is atleast 350whp, and i dislike the idea of nitrous.

and i don't really know what intake manifold i should install and as far as the cam, i want atleast 20whp and equal torque throughout the powerband and still have stock or very close to stock idle.

hopefully more shall chime in

Sounds like you getting a good deal on the motor. I'd go with a ls6 intake as far as that goes.

Welcome man, do plenty of research on cams, there are much better cams than the GM cam these days. Contact a Vendor for exact questions, they are here for that reason, to help you.
