New to the ls1 site Hello everyone.
I am new to the site and to learning about the newer motors. I currently have a 454 thats a lot of fun, but I would like to be able to drive my car more than I currently do.
I am wanting my car to be more streetable and have more power. I would love to have a ls in my car, but it seems the prices are out of range for what I am able to spend. I have been looking into the 5.3 and 6.0 Vortec's and I know this is probably a dumb question, but what are the major differences? I am considering putting in a 6.0 Vortec with a single turbo around 9lbs of boost. I have been told that with a cam change, better springs and pushrods, these motors are pretty much bullet proof. And I could still get decent mileage (for a hot rod).
Any guidance would be appreciated.

Welcome to the site!!! I cant really point you in any direction as I dont have any experience with either motor. Never been impressed with 6.0s bc I have seen the 5.3s put up and handle as much as 6.0s. And I personally like making as much or more power with a smaller motor. Either should make Hellacious power with great Streetability. Thats the best thing about LS motors. Look thru the Performance Section and I'm sure you'll find more than enough info.
